Original BOOBS Artwork Featuring Sorcha Rosa

This original artwork was created by Irish artist Geraldine Carton as part of the acclaimed BOOBS project, later documented in Nicola Leddy’s film BOOBS.

The painting depicts my own chest and formed part of Geraldine’s celebrated “Wall of Boobs”, a large-scale artistic project bringing together people of different ages, backgrounds, identities, and life experiences in a collective celebration of bodies, visibility, self-expression, and bodily autonomy.

For me, participation in the project was deeply personal. As an intersex transgender woman, public conversations about bodies, visibility, and belonging have shaped much of my life. The BOOBS project created space for those conversations in a way that was playful, political, and profoundly human.

This is not a print, reproduction, or limited edition.

This is the original painted artwork used within the project.

A unique piece of contemporary Irish feminist art connected to both Geraldine Carton’s work and Nicola Leddy’s documentary film.

Only one exists.

Provenance & Collector Experience

The artwork includes a signed provenance statement from Sorcha Rosa explaining its connection to the BOOBS project and documentary.

The purchaser will also be offered the opportunity to receive the artwork in person from Sorcha Rosa over coffee, lunch, or a private conversation by mutual agreement.

During this meeting, Sorcha will share her experience of participating in the BOOBS project, reflections on body politics, feminist art, intersex visibility, and the story behind the artwork itself.

This meeting is entirely optional and intended to enhance the provenance and cultural significance of the piece.

Why This Piece Matters
